A Significant Milestone for BGIC and the Fijian Community
Alhamdulillah, with the grace and blessings of Allah (SWT), Ba Global Islamic Care (BGIC) is pleased to announce that the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) has endorsed BGIC as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR).
This means that all donations of AUD $2 or more made to BGIC are now tax deductible in Australia, making it easier for individuals and businesses to support our humanitarian and community projects while receiving a valuable tax benefit.
This achievement marks another significant milestone for BGIC. Established in 2022, BGIC is now in its fourth year of serving the community, and in such a short period, Alhamdulillah, we have grown into a trusted charitable organisation delivering meaningful programs across Fiji. From monthly Zakaat assistance and Home Care Services to variuos community welfare initiatives, BGIC has remained committed to serving those most in need with compassion, dignity and excellence.
Obtaining DGR endorsement is a rigorous process. Organisations must demonstrate high standards of governance, financial accountability, compliance, transparency and charitable purpose before being approved by the Australian Taxation Office.
BGIC’s successful endorsement is recognition of the strong foundations we have worked hard to establish. It reflects our commitment to responsible stewardship of donor funds and our determination to operate with integrity, professionalism and accountability in everything we do.

In addition, BGIC has provided practical assistance by supplying wheelchairs, new mattresses, and other essential items to improve the comfort, mobility and quality of life of our clients.
While the practical support we provide is essential, one of the greatest gifts we can offer is human connection.
Many of our clients spend much of their time alone. For them, the weekly visit from our Home Care team is often the highlight of their week. A warm smile, a caring conversation, words of encouragement, and simply knowing that someone genuinely cares can have a profound impact on their emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Our staff serve with sincerity, patience and compassion, treating every client with the respect and dignity they deserve. Their dedication reflects the beautiful Islamic values of mercy (Rahmah), kindness (Ihsaan), and service to humanity.

In just four short years, BGIC has grown from a newly established charity into an organisation supporting hundreds of vulnerable individuals and families across Fiji through a range of welfare initiatives. This remarkable progress has only been possible through the mercy of Allah (SWT), the unwavering support of our donors, volunteers, partners and the wider community.
Receiving DGR endorsement is not the destination, it is another step in our journey. It strengthens our ability to serve more people, expand our programs and continue building an organisation that our donors and beneficiaries can trust.
